Questions
Which trades can I actually use today?
Electrical, and only electrical — but all eight BS 7671 forms in it: EICR, EIC, Minor Works in one-circuit and three-circuit form, EV charging point, earthing and bonding, isolation and the danger notification. PAT, fire and gas are built but not released — each needs sign-off from a competent person in that trade before it goes near a real job, and we are not shipping them until that happens.
So is Complete worth £149 right now?
Not for what it unlocks today, no — today it gives you the same certificates as Electrical. Buy Complete if you want the price locked in before the other trades arrive, and Electrical at £99 if you want the cheapest thing that does the job this week. You can move up mid-term either way.
What if I only do electrical?
Then Electrical at £99 a year is the plan for you, and it is £26.99 a year cheaper than the nearest equivalent. You are not subsidising trades you will never open.
Do I have to pay to try it?
No. Download it, create a certificate, fill it in and read the finished PDF for nothing, with no time limit. A subscription is what lets you mark it issued and send it to the client — and that starts with a 14-day free trial.
Can I move from Electrical to Complete later?
Yes, mid-term. Both plans sit in the same Apple subscription group, so Apple handles the change and prorates what you have already paid.
Do I need an account?
Not on Electrical or Complete. You subscribe through Apple and start working. The Firms plan does need accounts, because a QS cannot review a certificate sitting on someone else's phone.
What happens if I stop paying?
Certificates you have already issued stay on your device and stay exportable. You just cannot create new ones until you resubscribe.
Is my client data sent anywhere?
Not on the sole-trader plans. Your data stays on your device, or syncs privately through your own iCloud if you turn that on. On the Firms plan it syncs through a Certably workspace so the QS can review it — held in the UK, encrypted, never sold or mined.
