Privacy

The short version

Certificates you create in the Certably app stay on your device. We do not receive them, store them or have any way to read them. On this website, the only personal data we hold is an email address, and only if you hand us one.

What we collect on this site

If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the page you signed up from and the referring page. We use it to email you about early access and launch, and nothing else. There is an unsubscribe link on every email, and unsubscribing deletes the record.

The free calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to us or stored anywhere.

What the app collects — Electrical and Complete

Nothing. Certificates, customer records, site details, photographs and test results are held on your device. If you enable iCloud sync they move between your own devices through your own Apple account, encrypted, and we have no access to that either.

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details or your name and address.

What the app collects — Firms

The Firms plan is different, and we are not going to blur it. A Qualified Supervisor cannot review a certificate that only exists on somebody else's phone, so certificates, customer records, site details, photographs and test results sync through a Certably workspace that we operate.

That data is held in the UK, encrypted in transit and at rest, and isolated to your firm. We do not sell it, mine it, share it with third parties, or use it to train anything. Your firm can export all of it in a machine-readable format at any time, and we delete it on request when you leave.

Firms plans use named accounts, so we hold each engineer's name and email address, and a log of certificate actions — created, submitted, reviewed, signed or rejected — because that audit trail is the point of the product.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because the only thing we hold is a waitlist email address, this is usually a one-line request. Email privacy@certably.co.uk and we will action it within 30 days.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you think we have handled your data badly.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page and email anyone on the waitlist before the change takes effect.
